We are very proud of our students and their many and varied achievements. These achievements may be academic or extra-curricular, personal or shared. We take every opportunity to celebrate success whether modest or grand.
On Thursday we had an opportunity for one such celebration as we welcomed around 50 of last year’s GCSE cohort to our Award Winners Evening. The evening recognised excellent achievements and attitudes across all subjects. It was a pleasure to see so many smiling students and to hear about their successful starts to post-16 studies. We are incredibly proud of all our students and our award winners are outstanding role models for those that follow in their footsteps.
Next week, in assemblies, students will be invited to apply to be School Council representatives. The School Council gives students the opportunity to shape school decision-making and to learn about democratic processes. Successful candidates will represent their peers at regular meetings and report back decisions and findings. This is an excellent chance for committed students to develop their leadership and communication skills. Full details will be shared in assemblies – please take the chance to discuss potential applications with your child.

We are planning a further session over the next few weeks.
Southampton Boat Show
A group of Year 9 students attended this year’s Southampton Boat Show to familiarise themselves with the maritime industry and speak to exhibitors about the various jobs their companies offer. Highlights of the trip included a short harbour boat ride, a tour of a Sunseeker luxury yacht, a bag full of goodies from the various exhibitors, as well as the opportunity to speak to adventurer Andrew Bedwell who is currently preparing for ‘The Big C Atlantic Challenge’, aiming to cross the Atlantic in the smallest boat on record.
