John Mason
Honorary School President
I served on the Governing Body of The Mountbatten School for 26 years, retiring in 2014.
My career was spent initially in the design/development of Guided Missiles and then in the development and testing of computers and other IT devices. As well as working in the UK, I spent some years working in Australia, USA and France.
My passion for encouraging young people to develop their talents to the full, can also be seen in a lifetime of scouting, which has including many roles from Scout Leader to District Commissioner, culminating in being awarded the highest Scout Leader award (the Silver Wolf) by the Chief Scout.
I am now proud to hold the position of Honorary President in such a well-respected and prestigious institution where children and young people are educated and helped to realise their potential, to fully achieve their ambitions in life and play a valuable role in their communities.
Jill Hall
Honorary School Vice-President
I was a Trustee of Mountbatten School from 2006 until 2022 which included eight years as Chair. Having been a teacher and Director of Sport in a large school, I was keen to promote every aspect of the school’s sporting provision, to incorporate high performance and participation for all, while encouraging health and wellbeing.
Mary Bainbridge
Honorary School Vice-President
I was elected a parent governor at The Mountbatten School in 1988, serving on the board until 2016, with 12 years as Chair. With past experience also as a governor at the North Baddesley schools and at Barton Peveril, I remain committed to supporting the education of children in our locality in any way that I can.
